Synopsis

William Shakespeare's tragedy "Coriolanus" is based on the life of courageous military leader Caius Marcius Coriolanus. Volscian forces lead by Aufidius loses the battle to Roman Army lead by Caius Marcius and siege of Corioli. His victory earns the nickname Coriolanus from the Roman commander Cominius and consul. Based on his mother wish, Coriolanus tries to gain political power in Rome, but end up being exiled from Rome. Unable to bear what his country has done to him, he forges alliance with Aufidius and about to assault Rome. During the battle his family pleads him to stop the war against Rome. Coriolanus returns to Volscian city with peace treaty, but pays the heavy price as it was considered by Aufidius as betrayal.
